Toyota held the global debut of the new generation Innova, dubbed the Innova Zenix, in the Indonesian market. The premium MPV will hit the market on November 25, 2022, with the price to be announced during the 2023 Auto Expo in January. The Toyota Innova Zenix/Hycross is a significant departure from the Innova Crysta.
It is planned to be sold alongside the Innova Crysta when it arrives, leaving the Innova lineup barren of a diesel powertrain. The exterior has undergone significant changes as the evolutionary approach to change resulted in the introduction of a new style direction, with plenty of SUV-like elements giving it a more powerful look.
The Toyota Innova Hycross has a completely redesigned front fascia that includes a new trapezoidal grille section with chrome surrounds and black inserts, an updated bumper with a wide air inlet extending to triangular housings at each end, faux aluminium finish, newly designed LED Daytime Running Lights, and sharper wraparound LED projector headlights.
Other features include forceful side creases, new alloy wheels and LED taillights, a redesigned rear bumper, and so on. It has larger proportions than the Innova Crysta, thanks to the all-new platform. The modular TNGA-C platform has increased the MPV’s space, and it has a sturdier construction with greater safety and dynamic abilities.
Due to its usage of the iMV ladder frame platform and monocoque chassis, the Innova Hycross is a front-wheel drive variant as opposed to the Crysta’s rear-wheel drive design. With the addition of a new layered dashboard and a more contemporary centre console with cutting-edge features and technologies, the cabin has also undergone a total makeover.
A larger floating touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, more luxurious metallic accents, a revised semi-digital instrument cluster, a large panoramic sunroof, powered seats, middle row captain chairs with an ottoman function, wireless charging capability, touch-sensitive climate controls, and other features are included in the interior.
The most recent Toyota Safety Sense technology package is also available, featuring lane departure warning, lane keep assist, rear cross traffic alert, blind spot monitoring, and many other features. The Toyota Innova Hycross’s new robust hybrid powertrain, which has a significant amount of local content, is another important innovation.
It has a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine as well as a potent hybrid version of the same gasoline engine. Given the recognition of the Innova nameplate in both Indian and international markets, the Innova Hycross is more likely to have a significant impact upon release.
