Tottenham updates: Lamela-Gil swap complete; Atalanta double swoop?

Tottenham have finalised the swap deal involving Erik Lamela and Bryan Gil. The London club will sign the young winger for five years, and will pay Sevilla €25 million along with the rights to the Argentinian. 

The rumour came out of nowhere, and has now been given the here we go signal by Fabrizio Romano, which means that the transfer is as good as done. An official announcement regarding the deal can be expected in the next few days. Gil is currently with the Spain Olympics squad and will compete for the gold medal before making the switch to London. 

Elsewhere, Spurs have also completed the signing of Peterluigi Gollini from Atalanta. The goalkeeper will fly to London today to complete his medicals and sign his contract as a new Tottenham player. He is expected to be the replacement for Hugo Lloris in the years to come. Gollini has competed for the club in the Champions League, and has also made over a century of appearances for La Dea in the Italian league. 

Spurs are also in talks with Atalanta for their centre-back, Cristian Romero. The defender recently won the Copa America with Argentina and was awarded the defender of the season in Serie A for 20/21. Romero has not agreed anything with Spurs as of yet, and the two clubs are yet to come to an agreement as well. The price quoted for the young defender is €55 million.
