Tottenham Hotspur built a golf course to keep Bale happy

Contrary to the opinions of football fans in the comments section of any post mentioning Spurs, the London club have managed an immensely successful summer transfer window.

The addition of the likes of Gareth Bale, Sergio Reguilon and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg have completely transformed Jose Mourinho’s team this season.

Bale hasn’t played a full 90-minutes under Jose Mourinho yet, since he is still recovering from an injury, but only recently scored his first goal for Spurs since making his return against Brighton.

A front three of Son, Kane and Bale would be one of the most threatening in the league, and it seems to be just around the corner.

Speaking about his move from Real Madrid to London with fellow former Madridista Gareth Bale, Sergio Reguilon has revealed that the club has made golf holes in their training ground so that the Welshman can stay happy at the club.

“What most surprised me is at Spurs’ training ground there are golf holes,” Reguilón told El Larguero.

“I asked and they told me they were put there for him! They’re short holes, maybe 30 metres. I couldn’t believe it!”

Spurs are reportedly paying half of Bale’s sky-high wages, with his parent club Madrid bearing the other half of the Welshman’s salary.

Jose Mourinho was all praises for the player when he netted his first goal for Tottenham since making his return, and also took a cheeky dig at his former employer’s Real Madrid while speaking to the press.

Gareth Bale has been comically linked with golf ever since he brandished the infamous Wales-Golf-Madrid flag. The fact that he did not play a single minute for Real in 2020 is testament to how poorly the Champions League winner was treated at the Spanish capital.

Tottenham doing everything they can to keep one of their best players happy only goes to show how impactful Bale can be when he wants to play.
