Tottenham are expected to step up their pursuits of Ange Postecoglou in the coming weeks. Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has been left impressed by the Celtic manager, and is set to hold further talks with him over the vacant managerial position at the club.
Postecoglou led the team to a Scottish Premiership title this season, on the back of a very impressive domestic campaign. And it seems likely that he could be the next permanent head coach for the Lilywhites when the new season kicks off.
Ange Postecoglou in talks with Tottenham over manager role
Spurs have not qualified for any European competitions this season, and have an important summer ahead of them. It is important that they get their next manager right, and the Greek-Australian could be persuaded to trade in Champions League football for Premier League football next season.
Since Antonio Conte was sacked in March, Cristian Stellini tried his hand at managing the first team. But, he was also dismissed in favour of Ryan Mason, who was unable to guide the team to any European spots.
A deal with Celtic is not expected to be a problem to carry out. But, it will be interesting to see whether Ange Postecoglou will be up to the task of managing a club in the situation of Tottenham and leading them back to the top four amidst the stiff competition in England right now.
