While the summer transfer window is well behind us, transfer stories for the future are slowly starting to take shape. Deals are next conducted during the winter transfer window, in the middle of the season. So, here are the five players who could try to engineer a transfer away from their current clubs due to a lack of morale and good feeling.
Harry Kane
The England captain was the top transfer target for Manchester City this summer, but Daniel Levy ensured that the Premier League champions were priced out of a deal. Kane has reportedly made an agreement for one more season with Spurs, and could be on the move in 2022 in search for silverware.
Raheem Sterling
Sterling has been left on the bench for the majority of the new season, which is a downgrade from his previously elite status under Pep Guardiola. Barcelona have been linked with his signature, and the player himself could look to leave due to a lack of playing time.
Donny Van de Beek
The Netherlands midfielder has been treated very poorly by Ole Gunnar Solskjær. Everton made a bid for him in the summer, but Manchester United blocked the move and promised him more game time. That has not happened in any way, and Van de Beek will surely be on the move in the winter or next summer.
Gini Wijnaldum
Wijnaldum’s free transfer to PSG has not gone according to plan, and the former Liverpool player has been left out of the team for the majority of the games. He has expressed his disappointment at the issue as well and could look to leave if a good offer arrives.
Kylian Mbappe
Real Madrid made three massive bids for Kylian Mbappe this summer, but PSG rejected all of them. With only one year left on his current contract, Mbappe could leave for Real Madrid on a free transfer next summer when is deal runs out.
