The Indian skipper made 5 new records in the second T20 against England. Virat Kohli was an instrumental part as India chased down 164 runs with 7 wickets in hand. After some tough time, Virat Kohli back in form yesterday as he scored 73 and remained not out.

1. Most International Fifties

With the half-century against England last night, Virat Kohli becomes the batsman with most international fifties in T20. The Indian skipper surpasses his teammate Rohit Sharma[25] last night to achieve this feat.

2. 3000 T20 Runs:

The Indian Skipper became the first batsman to score 3,000 runs in T20Is. He has scored 3001 in his T20 career. Martin Guptil, who is in the second position, has scored 2839 runs.

3. Fastest to 12,000 international runs as captain

Virat Kohli also becomes the fastest player to score 12000 international runs in all format. He is the 3rd captain after Ricky Ponting and Graeme Smith to score 12000 runs as a captain.

4. Hit winning six most of the time as a captain

Virat Kohli is know as the ‘Chase Master’ in modern cricket. However, he became the first player to hit a winning six for the 4th time as a captain. Earlier MS Dhoni did the same 3 times.

5. Joins Sachin Tendulkar and Sunil Gavaskar in the list

The match was played in Motera’s Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. This stadium has witnessed some milestones achieved by Indian players. Those are:

1st player to 10000 Test runs (Sunil Gavaskar, 1987)
1st player to 30000 International runs (Sachin Tendulkar, 2009)
1st player to 18000 ODI runs (Sachin Tendulkar, 2011)

Now Virat Kohli joins the list as he completed 12000 ODI Runs in the same stadium as well.
