Manchester City are set to make Jack Grealish the most expensive English player of all time. The Midlands club are expected to accept a bid worth £100 million for their captain in the upcoming week to finalize the deal. With all the money being splashed around in the last few years, here are the 5 most expensive England players of all time.

5. John Stones (Everton to Man City) – €55.6m

Although he struggled to become a regular in the first team under Pep Guardiola until recently, John Stones found his mojo back in the 20/21 season. His performances have earned him the tag of being one of the best defenders in the country.

Arsenal recently sealed the transfer for Ben White, paying a big sum to the Seagulls for their star centre-back. At 23, Ben White has the opportunity to establish himself as a regular for Arsenal in the many years to come.

3. Raheem Sterling (Liverpool to Man City) – €63.7m

Arguably one of the best transfers that Manchester City have made, Sterling remains one of the first names on the team sheet for Pep Guardiola. The England international has scored 114 goals for City so far, and started for England in their Euro 2020 run.

2. Jadon Sancho (Borussia Dortmund to Man United) – €85m

The second transfer on this list to happen in 2021, Sancho to Man United was a year in the making and could have been the most expensive on the list if it went ahead a year ago. The Borussia Dortmund star has taken shirt number 25 at the Theater of Dreams.

1. Harry Maguire (Leicester City to Man United) – €87m

Manchester United hold the record for spending the most on English transfers, with their captain currently the most expensive of the lot. The former Leicester man has established himself as one of the best in England despite his harsh critics.
