The duo of Kimmich and Goretzka perfectly complements each other. While Kimmich plays as an exceptional passer and is responsible for creating chances, Goretzka is the more physical of the two. His role as a box-to-box midfielder helps him join the attack and protect the backline as well.

3. Kevin De Bruyne & David Silva (Manchester City)

The two midfield icons played together as 8s and excelled under Pep Guardiola. They won two Premier League titles, one FA Cup and four League Cups together at Manchester City.

2. Xavi & Andres Iniesta (Barcelona)

The midfield duo of Xavi and Iniesta will go down as one of the greatest in the history of the sport. They started together from La Masia and went on to win everything there is to win playing for club and country.

1. Toni Kroos & Luka Modric (Real Madrid)

Kroos and Modric continue to dominate football in their 30s and are at the top of the list of the best midfield duos of the past decade. While Kroos is among the best passers of the ball out there, Modric can pass the ball, and carry it forward effortlessly. As a result, they are perfect teammates and have cemented legendary status for themselves alongside Casemiro.
