5. Jamshedpur FC: 2021-22 (43 Points)

The 2021-22 season was a landmark year for Jamshedpur FC as they clinched their maiden trophy under manager Owen Coyle. Despite the season being played behind closed doors, the Men of Steel stood out as the best team. They played 20 games, winning 13, drawing four, and losing three. Their performance also earned them a playoff spot for the 2023-24 AFC Champions League. Greg Stewart was the standout player of the season, significantly contributing to Jamshedpur’s success. However, in the ISL semi-finals, they were defeated by Kerala Blasters with a 2-1 aggregate score.

4. FC Goa: 2023-24 (45 Points)

FC Goa underwent significant changes in the 2023-24 season, including the appointment of new manager Manolo Marquez, who brought in several top-quality players. The Gaurs achieved their highest points tally in club history, finishing the league with 45 points. In the first half of the season, they were strong contenders for the title. However, inconsistent performances in the latter part of the season led to them dropping points and ultimately finishing third, behind Mumbai City and Mohun Bagan.

3. Mumbai City FC: 2022-23 (46 Points)

Mumbai City FC secured the ISL Shield in the 2022-23 season with a record 46 points, the highest points tally by an ISL team at that time. Under the guidance of Des Buckingham, Mumbai City displayed some of the best attacking football the league had ever witnessed. Although they were defeated in the semi-finals, their season was remarkable, marked by an 18-match unbeaten run and qualification for the AFC Champions League.

2. Mumbai City FC: 2023-24 (47 Points)

The 2023-24 season for Mumbai City FC was a rollercoaster ride, marked by both highs and lows. Following a disappointing campaign in the AFC Champions League group stage, head coach Des Buckingham departed to join Oxford United, and Petr Kratky took over as the new head coach. Additionally, key players such as Greg Stewart and Rostyn Griffiths departed the club mid-season. Despite these challenges, Mumbai City narrowly missed out on the league shield in the final league fixture to Mohun Bagan. However, they exacted their revenge by defeating the Mariners in the ISL final, clinching the trophy for the second time.

1. Mohun Bagan: 2023-24 (48 Points)

Mohun Bagan kicked off the ISL 2023-24 season with promising momentum. However, a loss of form resulted in the dismissal of manager Juan Fernando. In a pivotal move, Antonio Lopez Habas was reinstated to steer the team. Despite the challenges, the 66-year-old tactician guided the Mariners to clinch the league shield with a record 48 points, securing qualification for the ACL 2 group stages in the process.
