French publication L’Equipe have revealed the top 5 highest paid Premier League players in 2023. And the leading goalscorer, Erling Haaland, is currently at number one with a reported wage of £865,000 when bonuses in his contract are activated.
Take a look at the other players that make up the top five highest paid players in the English top flight.
Top 5 highest paid Premier League players
4. Jadon Sancho and Mo Salah (£373,750 per week)
While Mohamed Salah has scored 20 goals this season in spite of Liverpool’s dismal showing this season, he is rightfully their highest earner.
But, Jadon Sancho’s inclusion seems surprising given the minimal impact he has had. The former Borussia Dortmund winger was signed after a lot of hype. But he has only been a shadow of his former self during his time at Manchester United.
3. David De Gea (£402,250 per week)
The Manchester United goalkeeper is a club icon for sure, and is also the best paid goalkeeper in the Premier League. He is due to sign a new contract with the club that will extend his stay by a few more years.
2. Kevin De Bruyne (£425,000 per week)
The Belgian midfielder is interestingly the best paid Premier League player when you count the gross salary. He is one of their most senior players and delivers consistently, leaving little room for debate about whether he deserves it or not. However, his contract doesn’t offer a similar payout to that of his teammate.
1. Erling Haaland (£825,000 per week)
The Norwegian has scored 28 goals in the Premier League this season, and is en route to becoming the top scorer of all-time. Given his performances, it is easy to see why the bonuses are regularly activated and why he is the highest paid Premier League player right now.
