The Indian cricket team is all set to play its 100th ODI match on the 6th Of February 2022. Sachin Tendulkar who’s known as the “God of Cricket” has been a part of 463 matches over a quarter of a century and he picked up five of his best matches in ODI. Let’s have a look at them.
The ” Master Blaster” picked the 2011 World Cup final as the best ODI match he’s been a part of. His second pick was the “Desert Storm ” match against Australia in Sharjah in 1998. The 2003 World Cup match against Pakistan and the two VB series games that India played against Australia in Sydney and The Gabba as the five best ODI matches that he’s been a part of.
Sachin Tendulkar said to Times Of India “World Cup 2011 final, Sharjah sandstorm vs Australia, Centurion 2003 vs Pakistan and the two VB series finals in Sydney and Brisbane vs Australia.”
ODI knock that Sachin Tendulkar would love to play again
The “Little Master ” said that if given a chance he would play the 2003 World Cup’s match against Pakistan where he scored a 98. He highlighted the pre-match tension, the bowling attack from the opposition team that made it quite memorable.
“It’s one knock I would love to play again, only for the pre-match tension, the build-up, and the bowling attack which I feel was the best at that time,” he said.
Sachin has scored the most in ODI cricket. Over a span of 463 matches, he amassed 18426 runs. He is also the player who has scored the highest centuries in ODI cricket, 49 to be precise. He was also a part of India’s World Cup winning squad in 2011.
The legend played his last ODI match for the Indian cricket team in 2012, a year before he took his retirement.
