The 2020-21 season of the Hero ISL has come to an end a few days back. Mumbai City FC was crowned champion by beating ATK Mohun Bagan FC in the final by 2-1. It was the 7th edition of the league.
All the games were played behind the closed-door in just 3 different venues in Goa following the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
However, some goalkeepers have dominated the league this season. Here are the top 5 goalkeepers with the most saves.
5. Albino Gomes [Kerala Blasters FC, 58 saves]
Kerala Blasters FC goalkeeper Albino Gomes is the 5th on the list with 58 saves. The 27 years old goalkeeper has played for several clubs in the ISL and has been a consistent performer for all of them.
4. Gurpreet Singh Sandhu [Bengaluru FC, 58 saves]
Gurpreet Singh Sandhu is one of the best goalkeepers in the country right now. He is the first-choice goalkeeper of his national side as well. Gurpreet has also saved 58 times for Bengaluru FC.
3. Arindam Bhattacharja [ATK Mohun Bagan, 59 saves]
One of the most consistent goalkeepers of ISL. The ATK Mohun Bagan’s number 1 has saved 59 times in the whole season. He was also the Golden Glove winner of this season.
2. Amrinder Singh [Mumbai City FC, 61 saves]
Amrinder Singh was the captain of the champion team this season. He has led his team quite efficiently. He has saved 61 times for his team and is in the second position on the list.
1. Arshdeep Singh [Odisha FC, 64 saves]
The Odisha FC goalkeeper is leading the table with 64 saves. He is just 23-year-old. The young goalkeeper was excellent through-out this season. After his performance this season, it is expected that he will get the chance in the national team as well.
