Free-throw shots are generally overlooked because they are only worth one point. But the ability to consistently knocking down free-throws is an art which requires a lot to master.

Here’s our ranking of the top 5 free-throw shooters from this NBA season, from 5-1.

5. Kyrie Irving – Brooklyn Nets

Career Free-Throw Percentage: 87.8%

Kyrie Irving is generally known for his flashy handles, 3-point shooting and accurate passing, because of which his free-throw shooting doesn’t get enough attention. This season, in 5 games, Irving is shooting a perfect 100% from the free-throw line. In the 20 games he played last season, Irving shot a total of 92.2% from the free-throw line.

4. Kevin Durant – Brooklyn Nets

Career Free-Throw Percentage: 88.3%

Kevin Durant is a 10-time All-Star, 4-time scoring champ, a former MVP, 2-time NBA champ and a 2-time Finals MVP. Durant has been dominating the league ever since he joined the league as a 19 year old. In his 5 games this season, Durant has shot the ball 90% from the free-throw line. In the 2018-2019 season, he averaged a great 88.5% from the line in 78 games.

3. Damian Lillard – Portland Trail Blazers

Career Free-Throw Percentage: 88.9%

Damian Lillard really upped his game last year, showing it to everyone in the league that he is not only am impeccable scorer but also a true leader. Last season, Lillard shot a brilliant 88.9% from the free-throw line. Whereas, this season, Lillard is currently shooting 93.3% from the line.

2. J.J Redick – New Orleans Pelicans

Career Free-Throw Percentage: 89.1%

J.J Redick is the definition of consistency. He has shown that he has mastered the art of shooting the ball into the hoop. In 13 seasons, he has shot the ball 90%+ in 7 seasons. This season, J.J Redick has shot a perfect 100% from the free-throw line.

1. Stephen Curry – Golden State Warriors

Career Free-Throw Percentage: 90.7%

Arguably the greatest shooter of all-time, there is no surprise that Stephen Curry tops this list. In his 6 games this year, Curry has converted 48 out of the 49 free-throws he has attempted. He had an active streak of 80 converted free-throws which was ended on 3rd January against Portland, which was 17 short of the NBA record. The 2-time MVP, 2-time champ and six-time All-Star will be looking forward to leading his team after a poor performance by the Warriors last season.

Other than these great consistent free-throw shooters, players like Khris Middleton, Kyle Korver, Chris Paul and Danilo Gallinari do deserve a mention on this list.
