2021 is on the verge of becoming the year gone by. And in reflection of the eventful 365 days that have gone by, here are the top five managers across Europe.
Top 5 managers in Europe in 2021
5. Christophe Galtier
Galtier was responsible for the miraculous Ligue 1 title victory that Lille achieved in the 20/21 season. He toppled Paris Saint-Germain despite their endless riches and pulled off an impossible feat in the process. He is now managing Nice, who are second in the table behind PSG.
4. Antonio Conte
Conte destroyed what he created with Juventus in his second season with Inter Milan. The Italian led the Nerazzurri to a Serie A title win, breaking the streak of Juventus which started under his reign. He has now moved to Tottenham to help revive them.
3. Thomas Tuchel
Only six months into his Chelsea career, the German manager won the Champions League after losing it with PSG last season. He has established the Blues as one of the best defensive sides in the continent and has helped them win several clubs of the year awards in the process.
2. Roberto Mancini
Mancini has revived the Italy national team, and this summer, the Azzurri lifted the Euro Cup after 54 years. He has turned things around drastically for the team that failed to qualify for the 2018 World Cup, and for himself in the process as well.
1. Pep Guardiola
The one thing that makes Pep Guardiola such a great manager is consistency. He demands the best from his players every game and does everything needed to get results consistently.
Save for the occasional blip, Guardiola has maintained his stronghold on the top spot in the Premier League and is yet again, a favourite to win the Champions League trophy. Whether or not it finally happens for City is something that remains to be seen.
