Manchester City Clinches World Title: Dominant 4-0 Victory Over Fluminense at the Club World Cup Final

The calendar year 2023 has now come to an end, with the second half of the domestic season in Europe now underway. In this article, we will take a look at the top 10 teams with the most wins in 2023. 

Some regular names such as treble winners Manchester City, Barcelona and Real Madrid are on the list. But, some others might surprise you.

10. RB Leipzig – 50 Games, 32 Wins 

The Red Bull club have the 10th most wins in 2023, after finishing in the Champions League places last year and winning the DFB Pokal trophy for the second straight season this past summer. 

9. Bayern Munich – 49 Games, 32 Wins

After winning the Bundesliga by the skin of their teeth last year, Bayern have had another tumultuous start to the season and find themselves in 9th with 32 wins from 49 games. They have remained undefeated in the Champions League group stage, but lost their winning run to Copenhagen. 

8. Atletico Madrid – 50 Games, 33 Wins 

The Rojiblancos have been in great form, earning 33 Wins from 50 games in 2023. After a stumble in their form, they are back to their best and have an outside chance at competing for the LaLiga title this year since they are ten points behind league leaders Real Madrid and Girona. 

7. Fiorentina – 64 Games, 34 Wins 

A name that might shock you considering they didn’t win any silverware – Fiorentina had 34 wins this season, but also played more games than the other clubs on the list. As part of the Europa Conference League qualifying games and the tournament matches, they played several more games and accumulated 34 wins. 

6. Bayer 04 Leverkusen – 52 Games, 35 Wins

Bayer Leverkusen have been a breath of fresh air in the Bundesliga, ranking sixth in the top ten teams with the most wins in 2023. Xabi Alonso’s side is competing for the league title and had 35 wins in all competitions this past year. 

5. Manchester United – 66 Games, 37 Wins 

Like Fiorentina, Manchester United have played more than 60 games but won the Carabao Cup, ending their drought for a trophy. They also progressed to the finals of the FA Cup, racking up more wins. But, their win percentage has dropped to almost 50% after a disappointing start to the new season. 

4. Barcelona – 56 Games, 37 Wins 

Xavi has helped Barcelona establish a new identity with the coming of brand new youngsters. And after winning the LaLiga title, they have finally qualified for the Champions League Round of 16 as the group winners this year, picking up 37 wins in the process. 

3. Inter Milan – 61 Games, 39 Wins

Inter Milan made it to the finals of the Champions League and also won the Coppa Italia last season. They won 39 games along the way, but fell short of the treble as Manchester City defeated them 1-0 in the finals of the tournament. 

2. Real Madrid – 63 Games, 44 Wins 

Real Madrid won the Copa del Rey last season, and also made it deep into the Champions League knockout stages last season. As a result, they have earned 44 wins and are currently at the top of the LaLiga table. 

1. Manchester City – 66 Games, 48 Wins 

After winning the Premier League, Carabao Cup, Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup, Manchester City had their best ever year in 2023. They won 48 out of 66 games, and barely tasted defeat while conquering not only Europe but also the world.
