IPL 2021 is going to be started on the 9th of April. As the COVID-19 pandemic is still going on, BCCI needs to take some measures to ensure the players’ safety.

All the players are already instructed to join the bio-bubble. However, there are so many other rules to be strictly followed by all the teams.

Here is the top 10 rules to follow for the teams.

Family and Owners in Bio-bubble

The family members of the players and the owners will be kept in bio-bubble. However, they can leave the bubble if necessary by taking permission from the BCCI’s Chief Medical Officer to exit the bubble.

Team Hotel will be sealed

BCCI suggested all the teams to book entire hotels for their squads. However, if this is not possible then for greater safety, the team areas of the hotel will be sealed so that no outsider can come close to the players.

Separate Check-Ins

There will be separate check-in counters for the players so that they are out of contacts with all the outsiders.

Bubble Integrity Managers

There will be 4 Bubble integrity managers for each team. They will have a close look at all the members and will report to the BCCI Chief Medical if anyone breaches the protocols.

Replacement of the balls

Though it is known that the cricket balls are not the carriers of the Corona Virus. But for full safety, if the balls go into the stands or outside the ground, they would be immediately replaced. Those balls will be sanitized and reused later.

Bubble to Bubble Transfer

Bubble-to-Bubble transfer rules will apply only if they are flying by chartered flights. Like all the Indian players will directly join their team bubble once the England series is over.

RT-PCR Tests before entering bubble

If the players are not coming from any bubble then they need to submit the reports of RT-PCR tests first.

7 days quarantine for foreigners

The players coming from the UK, Europe, South Africa, Brazil, and the Middle East would have to undergo a 7-day quarantine for which they will have to bear the costs themselves.

Special Rules for Chennai

As per the rules of the Tamil Nadu government, the players will need to provide a special e-pass that is being issued by the state government of Tamil Nadu.

No Contact Between BCCI Officials and Players

As BCCI officials will not be part of any bubble, they cannot interact in person with any player, team support staff, match management teams, and broadcast crews.
