Most of the elite clubs in Europe are backed by wealthy owners who spend a lot on their club. Running a football club is not an easy job and to keep the club at the top requires some heaving funding.

CIES Football Observatory has researched about the clubs of Europe’s top 5 leagues who have spent the most in the transfer market since summer 2016. The list is headed by one Premier League club Manchester United and La Liga club Barcelona.
