Top 10 goalkeepers with most clean sheets in ISL history

The Indian Super League is a relatively new tournament. But regardless, we have seen some great shot-stoppers in this limited time period as well.

We take a look here at the Top 10 goalkeepers with the most clean sheets in ISL history:

10) Debjeet Majumder – 8

He is probably one of the few players to have played for both the fierce rivals in the Kolkata Derby, Mohun Bagan and East Bengal. But Debjeet has been in and around the Indian football circuit, having featured for two seasons with ATK at the time and keeping 8 clean sheets.

9) Sandip Nandy – 8

With a good height of 177 cm, Sandip featured for both Kerala Blasters and Mumbai City in the initial years of the ISL. He is currently however retired from professional football and now works as a goalkeeping coach with Northeast United.

8) Pawan Kumar – 8

The 30-year-old keeper from Punjab has joined Jamshedpur FC for the 2020/21 season. Although he was on the roster for Chennaiyin, Pawan only made his name in a breakout season for Mumbai. He later played for Northeast and has kept 8 clean sheets so far in the competition.

7) Arindam Bhattacharya – 10

Recently winning the title with ATK and regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the league, Arindam Bhattacharya previously plied his trade for Churchill Brothers and made his name as a club legend, making 240 appearances in the process. He will continue to play for the defending champions until the 2022 season.

6) Apoula Edel – 10

The only foreign keeper to feature on this list, most ISL fans would remember the Cameronian goalkeeper for his fingertip saves and diving shots to keep many a clean sheet for Chennaiyin and later, Pune City. He kept 10 during his time with all clubs in the tournament.

5) Rehenesh TP – 13

Largely an athletic keeper who likes to make diving saves, Rehenesh stands at a good height of 180 cm and previously featured for Kerala Blasters. He will now turn out for Jamshedpur FC and could face competition, but will largely be expected to start as the first choice keeper.

4) Karanjit Singh – 13

Goalkeeper Karanjit Singh extends stay at Chennaiyin FC

Having spent all of his ISL career at Chennaiyin, Karanjit has over the years firmly established himself as the No 1 at the club. He was a prominent member of the winning teams in 2016 and 2018, and also was part of the Indian team’s SAFF Cup squad back in 2011.

3) Gurpreet Singh Sandhu – 13

India’s current goalkeeping phenomenon and termed the ‘wall of Bengaluru’, you will not find a better custodian than Gurpreet Singh Sandhu in the league. With a bit of European football experience under his belt, he has already achieved much with Bengaluru FC and managed 13 shutouts in the club’s three seasons in the ISL.

2) Amrinder Singh – 15

A long-standing keeper in Indian football, Amrinder will be expected to start as Mumbai City’s starter between the sticks. They will look to push on for the playoffs this season and Amrinder will play a great part of Lobera’s team who want to attain that objective.

One of the more popular keepers in the nation’s football history, 33-year-old Subrata Pal is far from finished. Featuring for Mumbai, Northeast and Jamshedpur in the past, the custodian from West Bengal will start a new chapter at Hyderabad FC for the 2020/21 season, using all his experience to garner more clean sheets.
