One of the best players to ever grace a football field, Lionel Messi, has recently become the player with the most matches in Barcelona history. The Argentine has now played 768 matches to date for the Spanish side.

Barcelona has a rich history of Spanish players who wore the Blaugrana shirt but surprisingly, their highest appearance maker is an Argentine. The Barcelona captain has been instrumental in their successes in the 21st century.
