And this time, it’s for good. *Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man* is now streaming on **Netflix**, picking up the story with **Thomas Shelby** in **self-imposed exile in 1940** — living alongside Johnny Dogs in a house as beaten and withered as what remains of his soul, haunted by his past and refusing to engage with the world he once ruled.

## **What Is the Peaky Blinders**‘s **Story?**

With Thomas in exile, his bastard gypsy son **Duke** (Barry Keoghan) has taken over the Peaky Blinders — running roughshod over wartime Birmingham with reckless abandon, operating without morality or mercy. When a **German operative** (Tim Roth) approaches Duke with a plan to flood Britain with counterfeit money and implode the economy, the young Shelby unknowingly puts his entire family — and his nation — on the brink of collapse.

This sets in motion the return of the mythical Thomas Shelby to the streets he once ruled — delivering what the show never quite gave in six seasons: **closure**.

## **The Verdict — What Works and What Doesn’t**

*The Immortal Man* functions as the only thing the original series never provided: a true ending. It shows what Tommy would be like stripped of his support system — no Pol, no Arthur, no Grace — and how far a Shelby without guardrails falls.

The film’s conscience and moral compass is **Ada** — whose strong-willed presence proves to be the catalyst for everything, just as it always was in the original series.

**Cillian Murphy** remains the undisputed MVP — sliding back into Thomas Shelby with the same brooding passion and presence he carried across six seasons, delivering what the reviewer describes as his *The Dark Knight Rises* arc: a man removed from the world he once ruled, thrust back in to save it one final time.

The film may not reach the heights of *Peaky Blinders* at its absolute peak — but it’s not supposed to. It gives Tommy redemption and a glimpse of who he could have been as a father had the war not destroyed him.
