Marvel just pulled off a sneaky double reveal that fans didn’t see coming. **Tombstone** — one of Spider-Man’s most underrated and genuinely menacing villains — is not only confirmed for *Spider-Man: Brand New Day*, but he’s making his small-screen debut first in **Prime Video’s *Spider-Noir*** series. And the hype is very much justified.

## Tombstone Confirmation: How It Happened

The confirmation came from artist Jorge Molina, who shared a set of *Spider-Noir* badge illustrations created for Prime Video and CCXP to celebrate the show’s launch. The illustrations featured several key characters, including Sandman, Electro — and Tombstone. When fans asked Molina who the first villain was, he confirmed it was indeed Tombstone. So before Tombstone ever throws a punch in the MCU, he’ll be terrorising audiences on streaming first.

## Why Tombstone Is the Perfect Pick for *Brand New Day*

*Spider-Man: Brand New Day* appears to be trading in the more fantastical setups of previous films for a grounded, street-level approach — and if you’re going down that route, Tombstone with his distinctly mafioso vibes is a perfect fit. [Tombstone](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tombstone_(comics)), real name Lonnie Lincoln, is a mob enforcer and one of Marvel’s most physically intimidating street-level villains. While he may not have the name recognition of Doctor Octopus or Venom, his history runs deep — he appeared in *Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse* and received a full spotlight in *Amazing Spider-Man’s* landmark Gang War storyline. He’s a villain who earns his respect the hard way.

His inclusion in *Brand New Day* could also pave the way for other street-level characters — most notably the Punisher, who is also rumoured to be part of the film. ## *Spider-Noir*: The Perfect Warm-Up

Before all of that, fans can see Tombstone in action when **Spider-Noir** drops on Prime Video on **May 27, 2026**, starring Nicolas Cage in the title role. The series is set in a 1930s noir universe and promises a completely different aesthetic to the MCU — darker, moodier, and drenched in classic pulp storytelling energy.
