UFC and WWE recently announced a merger, forming a new company called TKO holdings, and released their stock to the public. WWE sold 51% of their rights to a company called “Endeavour”, resulting in the end of the McMahon era with Vince McMahon no longer in complete control of the company.
The merger has reportedly boosted the valuation of WWE significantly, and the top officials have been rewarded generously. Nick Khan leads the list with a payout of $15 million, while Triple H received a payment worth $5 million from the deal.
UFC and WWE merger: TKO Holdings yields huge bonuses for top officials
Former chairman of WWE, Vince McMahon will now assume the role of executive chair of TKO. On the other hand, UFC president Dana White will be the CEO of the UFC under the TKO Holdings banner.
Speculation is rife about how things could play out with the two companies after the merger. Several performers have been a part of both the UFC and the WWE, with Brock Lesnar, Bobby Lashley and Matt Riddle being the most notable names. Former WWE Champion CM Punk also had a brief stint in MMA, but walked away with a 0-2 record.
Since the McMahon family no longer has full control of WWE, we could now be set for a change in creative decisions for the entirety of the company.
