Tile ties with Lenovo to find your lost ThinkPad

Losing a new/expensive gadget is very painful, whether it’s a smartphone or a laptop. Android users have Find My Phone by Google. For the Windows laptops, there is Tile. It has worked with Lenovo so that it can help you to find your laptop. This feature is announced during the ongoing CES 2022.

The upcoming ThinkPad X1 Carbon 10th gen, X1 Yoga 7th gen, and the X1 Nano 2nd gen will have the support. To enable user just need to download the Tile Windows application from Microsoft Store and enable the tracking feature.

It’s the second PC collaboration for Tile. The first collab is with HP.

If the lost laptop is there within the Bluetooth range or within 250 feet, the user can ring the device from Tile’s Android or iOS application. Otherwise, users can spot the most recent location or “enlist the secure help of Tile’s global network.” The lost laptop can be found even it is shut down or offline for up to 14 days.

Tile’s offering works like Apple’s FindMy network. But it’s not that effective at present as there is a much less number of devices compared to Apple devices. However, Tile says the Find with Tile business the already expanded with more than 40 third-party devices.

If you become excited by reading this article, you need to wait till the listed ThinkPad models come to the market. Point to note, Find with Tile for Lenovo is not backward compatible. So, if you are one of the existing Lenovo laptop users, it will not work for your device.
