## What Is Thunder Cloud Rain Storm About?

The plot follows Lee Il-jo, an illegitimate son who finds himself at rock bottom with no money, no job, and no home after being mistreated by his half-brother at their father’s funeral. Desperate and vulnerable, Il-jo turns to his cousin Seo Jeong-han, whom he hasn’t seen in years.

Jeong-han offers Il-jo a place to stay, but their living arrangement takes a dramatic turn when a drunk Jeong-han impulsively kisses Il-jo one night. Things get even more complicated when Il-jo is hospitalized with gallstones, and Jeong-han pays the 4 million won surgery fee, then presents a controversial contract demanding Il-jo “repay it with his body”.

The contract essentially binds Il-jo to Jeong-han’s home and states that all of Il-jo’s rights belong to him. What starts as a power-imbalanced arrangement slowly evolves into something deeper as Il-jo’s innocence and desperate loyalty begin to influence the initially indifferent Jeong-han, drawing them into a complicated and messy connection.

## Meet the Cast

**Yoon Ji-sung as Lee Il-jo**: The former Wanna One leader and solo artist brings heartfelt vulnerability to his first BL role. Known for his work in *Let Me Be Your Knight* and musicals like *Something Rotten!*, Ji-sung’s emotional depth makes him perfect for this complex character.

**Jeong Ri-u as Seo Jeong-han**: Playing the cold, possessive cousin whose walls slowly crumble, Jeong Ri-u delivers the perfect counterbalance to Ji-sung’s innocence.

## Why Fans Are Buzzing (And Some Are Concerned)

The webtoon Thunder Cloud Rain Storm has a passionate fanbase that’s fueling high anticipation for how the story will transition to live-action. However, some viewers have expressed concerns about elements they find troubling in the original storyline, particularly the power dynamics and the cousin relationship aspect.

Despite mixed reactions, excitement remains sky-high—especially with a K-pop idol of Ji-sung’s caliber making his BL debut. Director Min Chae-yeon, who previously helmed *Business as Usual* (2025), promises to handle the sensitive material with care.
