Thorgan Hazard has completed a permanent transfer to Belgian side Anderlecht from Borussia Dortmund. The winger spent this past season on loan at PSV Eindhoven and has now been moved on permanently by the Bundesliga club.
He signed for the black and yellow club in 2019 from Borussia Monchengladbach and there were a lot of expectations from him. Although he had a productive start to life in Signal Iduna Park, he was unable to stay consistent with his performances and eventually fell down the pecking order at the club.
Thorgan Hazard signs for Anderlecht in permanent transfer
Having signed Julien Duranville from Anderlecht earlier this summer, there will be one less member of the squad for either player to compete with. Thorgan Hazard’s performances in training were improving during his final days at the club, but Dortmund needed to offload him to bring in new players.
Although his €4 million move comes too late since the German transfer window has closed, the funds can be used later on in the winter transfer window.
The Belgian will be looking to revive his career with consistent performances in his native country, after a spell in the Netherlands. His older brother Eden Hazard remains a free agent after leaving Real Madrid upon the expiry of his contract.
