Thomas Muller has established himself as a Bayern Munich legend yet again. The forward came on for Michael Olise in the team’s latest game against Freiburg and made his 710th appearance for the senior team.
In the process, he became the player with the most appearances in the history of Bayern Munich, breaking the record previously held by Sepp Maier for 45 years. The veteran also scored following his appearance, making it 2-0 for his side and ensuring that they earn all three points.

The 34-year-old has been at Bayern Munich his entire professional career, and it was a well deserved achievement on his part given his loyalty and contribution to the club’s success over the last decade.
Muller will probably have a rotational role coming off the bench for the most part this season, with the rise of Jamal Musiala and the presence of other options out wide. But, his experience, leadership and composure are still an asset that the team could use under new manager Vincent Kompany.
It now remains to be seen if Bayern can reclaim the Bundesliga title following Bayer Leverkusen’s first league defeat in over a year.
