Yesterday, news came out that Spotify owner Daniel Ek was planning to take Arsenal off of the hands of Stan Kroenke and co. The last few days have seen hundreds gather outside the Emirates Stadium to protest Kroenke and his ownership of the club.

Fans have been very vocal about their demands of seeing Kroenke out of the club. While Arsenal have declined since the American takeover, the final nail in the coffin was their participation in the proposed European Super League that sent fans into a frenzy.

Ek could be joined by three of Arsenal’s legendary invincibles in taking over the club. Those three being Dennis Bergkamp, Patrick Vieira and inaugural Premier League Hall of Fame inductee Thierry Henry.

Josh Kroenke, son of Stan Kroenke, has made it clear that the club is not for sale but the magnitude of the protests could change that. Moreover, the emergence of suitable buyers could also tempt the family into selling the London based outfit. They are reportedly willing to listen to offers of around £2 billion.

According to Forbes, Daniel Ek’s personal worth is about £3.4 billion. Additional support from the three Arsenal legends could see the coalition take over the club soon, if it goes through. There have also been theories that this is all a publicity stunt to mask his lack of funds.

That doubt arises from Arsenal chiefs, who have questioned the legitimacy of Ek’s bids, pointing out that he simply tweeted about the issue instead of placing a formal bid to take over the club.
