Thiago Silva will leave Chelsea at the end of the season, as revealed by renowned transfer insider Fabrizio Romano. The centre-back’s contract will expire in June, which is when he will be free to sign for another club. An official announcement will confirm his decision in the coming weeks, but at this point, it will be a mere formality.
Romano has also revealed that several clubs made offers to sign Silva in the January transfer window. But, he decided to turn them down to stay at Chelsea till the end of the season. After an emotional loss at Wembley Stadium to Manchester City in the FA Cup semifinal, he has now decided to move on.

The 39-year-old joined Chelsea in 2020 after leaving PSG as a free agent. He has made an incredible impact on the club over the past four years, becoming a fan favourite and a leader on and off the pitch. However, his performances haven’t been up to the level we’ve been used to this past season.
The drop in pace is now evident, and time seems to be catching up to the seasoned veteran. Thiago Silva is now expected to return to Brazil and play for Fluminense, but the transfer still needs to be agreed upon by all parties.
