The Umidigi A7S is an Android Go phone with a built-in infrared thermometer sensor

As technology is improving day by day, we are seeing various things smartphone companies are using in their smartphones. Fingerprint scanner, face detection sensor, LAVA’s pulse detector feature phones, and many more on that list. As 2020 is a year of COVID-19, sanitizers, masks, thermal guns to check body temperature, oxy-meters, those are becoming our daily use things. Keeping this in mind, Umidigi unveiled the first entry-level smartphone with a built-in thermometer, basically an infrared contactless thermometer, which allows you to take someone’s body temperature without physical contact.

Original thermal guns are physically bigger than a smartphone and they are not easy to carry. But if we get that technology in a smartphone, then it will be much easier to carry and use. Let’s check how this will work.

There is a shortcut button on the side of the phone. By pressing it, we can launch the thermometer app. If you want to find the infrared sensor, you can get that with the rear camera module. The Umidigi A7S has a triple rear camera featuring a 13 MP main module (f/1.8), joined by an ultra-wide-angle (120°) camera with an 8 MP sensor and a 2 MP depth sensor for bokeh effects. The primary camera can record videos at 720P. It has a selfie camera of 8-megapixel at the topside front with a teardrop notch design. This camera can be used as a face unlock, but there is no fingerprint sensor in this phone.

This phone is powered by the MediaTek MT6737 chipset (quad-core A53 at 1.25 GHz) and it is an Android 10 Go edition phone. It has 2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. The internal storage can be expanded by an expandable microSD card. It has a triple card for two SIM cards and a microSD card.

Regarding the display, this phone is equipped with a 6.53” LCD with 720p+ resolution. There’s also the support of Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi b/g/n on board (but no NFC).

The Umidigi A7S has a decent 4,150mAH battery charged over USB-C at just 5 watts of charging support. a 3.5 mm headphone jack is also available with it. This phone has a polycarbonate body and it comes in three different color variants: Granite Gray, Sky Blue, and Peacock Green. You can pre-order this phone on September 21 at a price of just $70. But when the pre-order ends, the full retail price will be $100. You can find this model in AliExpress.
