Real Madrid made it obvious that they want to recruit KylianMbappe this summer by submitting a 160 million euro bid for the Paris Saint-Germain star on Tuesday. This follows the Frenchman’s repeated refusals to commit his future to PSG beyond his contract’s expiration next summer.

PSG’s Promise
In his most recent meeting with the PSG hierarchy, Mbappe reminded them of a promise they made when he first arrived at the club in the summer of 2017: they would negotiate his departure from the club if Los Blancos came calling at any point in the future.
That situation has finally materialized, and both PSG sporting director Leonardo and president Nasser Al-Khelaifi recognize that they cannot refuse such a generous and mutually beneficial arrangement.
The French media has also changed their tune on the probability of this move, now seeing it as very likely that negotiations will begin this summer, after earlier believing it was out of the question. Whatever happens over the next week, Mbappe has already established himself as Real Madrid’s new idol, even before completing his dream transfer.
Increase in Bid for PSG
After having an initial 160-million-euro deal rejected, Real Madrid has upped its offer for Paris Saint-Germain striker KylianMbappe to 180 million euros ($211.48 million), according to French publication L’Equipe.
As per L’Equipe, the sum will include 10 million euros in bonuses. An enhanced second bid of 170 million euros was previously published by Sky Sports.
Real Madrid proposed the 22-year-old World Cup winner, who scored 42 goals in all competitions for PSG last season and has reportedly stated his desire to go to Spain, according to Spanish and French media on Tuesday. PSG sporting director Leonardo had previously stated that the 160-million-euro offer was “insufficient” and that Mbappe, who has one year left on his current contract, would only go on PSG’s conditions.
Current Situation
The probable trade of KylianMbappe between Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid has reached a stalemate. There is anxiety in Madrid that if a deal is not reached soon, the attacker will bow to pressure from PSG — and his colleagues there — and agree to a contract extension.
The transfer window ends on Tuesday night in both Spain and France, with insiders close to the LaLiga club telling ESPN that “anything might happen” before the deadline.
