## What Is The Testaments About?

Years after the events of *The Handmaid’s Tale*, *The Testaments* follows young teens Agnes — dutiful and pious — and Daisy, a new arrival and convert from beyond Gilead’s borders, as they navigate the gilded halls of Aunt Lydia’s elite preparatory school. Their bond becomes the catalyst that will upend their past, their present, and their future — making this a bold coming-of-age story set inside one of fiction’s most terrifying regimes.

The series is set four to five years after the end of *The Handmaid’s Tale*, with Aunt Lydia no longer working with handmaids but now running an elite school for Gilead’s young women.

## The Testaments: Key Cast Members

The main cast includes **Chase Infiniti** as Agnes, **Lucy Halliday** as Daisy, **Rowan Blanchard** as Shunammite, **Mattea Conforti** as Becka, and the returning **Ann Dowd** as Aunt Lydia.

Agnes is actually Hannah — the biological daughter of June Osborne from *The Handmaid’s Tale*, now a teenager questioning everything she’s been told about her past.

## Episode Release Schedule

The show kicks off with a three-episode premiere on April 8, with new episodes dropping weekly on Wednesdays until the season finale on May 27, 2026. [Disney+](https://www.disneyplus.com/explore/articles/the-testaments-hulu) The first episode is titled “Precious Flowers.”

## Why This Matters?

The series holds an 86% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on 22 critic reviews [Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Testaments_(TV_series)) — a strong opening for one of TV’s most anticipated returns. Executive produced by Elisabeth Moss and Bruce Miller, this spinoff was greenlit directly from the bones of one of Hulu’s biggest ever hits.
