## **What Is Episode 9 “Marat Sade” About?**

The official logline for Episode 9 reads: “As Daisy steps into a new role, she considers what she’s willing to lose to help her friends.” After learning in Episode 8 that Dr. Grove abused Agnes — and that Aunt Lydia already knows but hasn’t publicly acted — Daisy’s outrage has nowhere to go but outward. As a Mayday operative trapped inside Gilead with her period now making marriage eligibility a real threat, she faces a defining choice: stay cautious and protect her mission, or take direct action for the girls around her.

Daisy, who was once an interloper in the group of Green girls, may now be the avenging angel they have been waiting for.

## **Where Does the Season End?**

Season 1 of *The Testaments* has 10 episodes in total, with the season finale landing on May 27, 2026. That means Episode 9 is the penultimate chapter — the last chance to set the table before whatever Gilead has been building toward finally arrives.

The series, which serves as a narrative continuation to *The Handmaid’s Tale* (2017–2025) and premiered on April 8, 2026, currently holds an 88% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. It follows Agnes — played by Chase Infiniti, who is also the biological daughter of June Osborne in the show’s mythology — and Daisy, played by Lucy Halliday, with Ann Dowd reprising her iconic role as Aunt Lydia.
