We often celebrate actors for the roles they play on screen. But sometimes, the most powerful performances happen in real life — with no camera rolling. Veteran Telugu actor **Jagapathi Babu** has just reminded us exactly of that, with a deeply personal and touching revelation about how **Prabhas** became his anchor during one of the most difficult phases of his life.

## Jagapathi Babu Opens Up — The Story in Brief

In a candid conversation with Moneycontrol, Jagapathi Babu revealed that he once reached out to Prabhas while battling **depression**. At the time, Prabhas was shooting in Georgia but immediately offered his full support.

Recalling the moment, Jagapathi Babu said: “I was going through depression and wanted to speak to him. At that time, Prabhas was shooting in Georgia. He told me, ‘Darling, I am there. Tell me your problem, I will solve it,’ and gave me a lot of confidence.”

That one phone call — from halfway across the world — made all the difference.

## What Jagapathi Babu Said About Prabhas?

The veteran actor was deeply moved, adding: “His words motivated me and gave me courage. Though he is younger than me, he has a very big heart. He loves and cares for everyone.” He also revealed that Prabhas personally visited him after returning from his shoot.

| What Jagapathi Babu Said | About Whom |
| --- | --- |
| “Gave me a lot of confidence” | Prabhas — while shooting in Georgia |
| “Very big heart, loves everyone” | Prabhas — on his off-screen character |
| “Humble, no ego at all” | SS Rajamouli — on his attitude post-success |
| “Treats everyone with care and affection” | Rajamouli’s entire family |

## Praise for SS Rajamouli Too

Jagapathi Babu also reserved special admiration for filmmaker SS Rajamouli, describing him as someone who, despite achieving global recognition, remains completely humble and ego-free. He further noted that Rajamouli selects actors based purely on suitability to the character — not personal closeness — and believes even a fraction of the director’s discipline could help anyone succeed in career and life.

[Depression](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Depression_(mood)), as a mental health condition, affects millions worldwide, and it’s moments like these — of genuine human kindness from unexpected quarters — that remind us how powerful empathy truly is, regardless of fame or status.

## Prabhas’ Upcoming Work

On the professional front, Prabhas has a packed slate ahead. He will reprise his role as Bhairava in **Kalki 2898 AD: Part 2**, the sequel to Nag Ashwin’s dystopian sci-fi blockbuster, and is also collaborating with director Sandeep Reddy Vanga for **Spirit**, which is slated for a 2027 release.
