## Why The Renewal Matters

The first season captivated audiences with its unique blend of [slice-of-life](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slice_of_life) warmth and creeping existential dread. The story follows Yoshiki and his best friend Hikaru—or rather, the entity that replaced Hikaru after a mysterious incident in the mountains. The renewal means we will finally get answers to the cliffhangers left in the finale.

The anime’s success lies in its ability to balance heartwarming friendship with genuine terror. Season 2 is expected to dive deeper into the “Hikaru” entity’s true nature and the consequences of Yoshiki’s decision to keep the secret.
