You can undo or redo one or more typing operations using the undo and redo functions, but you cannot skip any steps; instead, all activities must be undone or redone in the same sequence that they were done. To undo the initial modification you made after changing the values of three fields in a record, for instance, you have to undo the three changes.

Likewise, you may reverse most design modifications you make to database objects, like adding a sort order to a query field or a control to a report. Adjustments to the design must also be reversed in order.

Choose one of the following to reverse multiple actions:

Select the activities you wish to undo by clicking the arrow next to “Undo Typing” on the Quick Access Toolbar.

Assist in avoiding missed work

Though it isn’t a replacement for routinely saving your work, undo can truly rescue the day. With Backup and Restore and Application Parts (a type of template), you can lessen the likelihood that work will be lost due to crashes or problems.

Create a backup and restore

Create a database backup before beginning any significant design revisions. You can then restore as much from the backup as necessary if you make a number of design changes and are unable to undo them all.
