Forbidden desire meets Joseon-era intrigue — Netflix’s most anticipated K-drama of the year is almost here, and it’s bringing a stacked cast to pull it off. If you’ve been waiting for *The Scandal*, the countdown is finally over.

**When does it drop?** The Scandal premieres globally on Netflix on September 18, 2026, and unlike weekly-release dramas, all 8 episodes land at once, so you can binge the entire thing in one sitting.

This isn’t just another period romance. Directed by Jung Ji-woo, the series reimagines Pierre Choderlos de Laclos’ 1782 novel Les Liaisons dangereuses through a Korean historical lens, and doubles as a television adaptation of the 2003 Korean film Untold Scandal, which originally starred Bae Yong-joon, Jeon Do-yeon, and Lee Mi-sook.
