Insomniac Games’ Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be released for the PlayStation 5 on October 20, 2023. Miles Morales and Peter Parker’s latest project will feature famous Spider-Man villains like Venom, The Sandman, Kraven, and possibly some other unknown nasties.
Of course, Spider-Man fans who preordered the physical version of the game won’t have to worry about the release date for Spider-Man 2, but for those who choose the digital edition on the PlayStation shop, knowing the precise moment the game will be ready to play is helpful.
As of this writing, neither Sony nor Insomniac has confirmed the real release dates for Spider-Man 2 on their respective social media pages. Most developers these days disclose global release dates for significant releases on Twitter, but the Spider-Man team appears to be waiting until later in the week, if at all.
The release of Spider-Man 2 could happen at midnight tomorrow
Fortunately, one Redditor contacted a PlayStation customer service representative to inquire about the release dates, and they responded, stating that “Spider-Man 2 will be released at midnight on October 20 in your local timezone.” Of course, this is not an official declaration from the development team, so treat it with caution.
However, there are still rumors that people in the United States who are not on the East Coast can play the game a few hours before midnight. People in California, for example, should be able to play Spider-Man 2 at 9 p.m. local time, while those in Chicago should be able to play at 11 p.m. local time.
