The Prince of Johor, Tunki Ismail Ibni Sultan Ibrahim is planning to buy the Spanish club Valencia CF.
According to Marca, Ibrahim is a relatively well-known character at Valencia ever since Peter Lim took over. However, a recent social media post hinted at a forthcoming increase in his involvement with the La Liga club.
Tunki Ismail Ibni Sultan Ibrahim is the Prince of Johor. It is one of the 13 states into which Malaysia is divided into. According to Forbes, Ibrahim is the oldest of five children and has a family fortune valued at around €750m.
The 36-year-old Prince will inherit from his father a replica mansion from The Flintstones and a Boeing 737 valued at over €90m and painted gold. He is also the president of the Malaysian Football Federation and has ordered the construction of a 40,000 seater stadium to the cost of €200m.
He is very close to Valencia CF chief Peter Lim. Recently he expressed his desire to buy a share of Valencia CF as well.
However, the Prince also owns Johor Darul Takzim FC (Johor Tigers), the team that features the Malaysian Super League. They have also signed former Valencia playmaker Pablo Aimar in the past.
Valencia CF is in financial crisis currently after the COVID-19 pandemic. It will be good for the Spanish side in this crisis as well.
