## Who Is Jamie Bell Playing — And Why the Recast?

The new show takes place **10 years after** the events of *The Immortal Man* and follows the next generation of the Shelby family in the 1950s. [Variety](https://variety.com/2026/tv/news/peaky-blinders-sequel-first-look-jamie-bell-duke-shelby-1236705751/) The decade jump naturally called for an older, more seasoned Duke — and Bell fits perfectly.

## The Peaky Blinders : Full Cast So Far

Jessica Brown Findlay (*Silo*), Lashana Lynch (*No Time to Die*), and Lucy Karczewski (*Stereophonic*) have also been cast in the period drama — with Karczewski making her television debut. [Deadline](https://deadline.com/2026/04/peaky-blinders-series-jamie-bell-duke-shelby-charlie-heaton-1236772251/) Character details for the new additions are being kept tightly under wraps for now.

## What Is the New Show About?

In this new era of *Peaky Blinders*, a decade after World War Two, the race to rebuild Birmingham becomes a brutal contest of mythical dimensions — a city of unprecedented opportunity and jeopardy, with Duke Shelby at its blood-soaked heart: older, wiser, more ambitious, and most certainly more dangerous.
