Samsung has been closely working with AMD to make it’s custom Exynos chip with Radeon graphics, which will be the first of its kind chip. It seems the time is not far enough as newer leaks about the Exynos 1000 starts pouring in.

Although the South Korean giant has done a lot of good things in the smartphone industry, their own mobile SoC division still lacks the edge over Qualcomm chips. Even Huawei has made significant progress in making their Kirin SoCs powerful but we all are waiting for Samsung to make a “true flagship” mobile chip.

Samsung is making 5nm production in South Korea and is gaining some handsome number of orders from various Silicon Valley giants including their rival Qualcomm. AMD is also working with them on their 5nm based GPUs with Samsung and so making a good flagship SoC with superior graphics might be actually possible this time.

Gaming on smartphones has never been so important as it is now, people, in fact, now prefer playing games on smartphones over PC. So, naturally, the demand for powerful gaming-oriented smartphones has increased. The tipster @MauriQHD has shared some info on this matter – only the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra will feature this new Exynos 1000 SoC.

Whereas the Samsung Galaxy S21 will be powered by the Exynos 992 chip, on the other hand, the SoC for the Galaxy S21+ still remains a mystery. Not only that, but there are also speculations that there might be a possible change of the Samsung “Exynos” branding.

The 5 nm based Exynos 1000 chip will feature the ARM’s latest Cortex-X1 high-performance core and 3 x Cortex-A78 cores along with standard 4 x Cortex-A55 cores. If graphics are to be considered, AMD’s RDNA graphics should deliver better graphics than Qualcomm’s Adreno GPU for sure, as AMD has a good record in making great embedded graphics for APUs and consoles.
