NVIDIA recently announced their highly anticipated GeForce RTX 3070 Ti today at Computex 2021, and at $599, it gives almost the performance of a flagship RTX 3080.
The graphics card gives as much as a 20% performance boost over the $100 cheap RTX 3070 and is said to provide faster performance than even the AMD Radeon RX 6800 series.
When the original RTX 3070 was launched there was no competitor, however, with AMD Radeon RX 6000 series GPUs, the performance benefit was diminished and fell below the RX 6800 in terms of raster performance. Now, the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti is ready to take on the Radeon RX 6800 series with fast GDDR6X memory.
Even though designed for 1440p gaming, you can expect good 4K gaming performance with DLSS. It comes with a full-flat GA104 GPU core based on the same Samsung’s 8nm process node, featuring 6144 CUDA cores or 48 SMs.
So, it has 4% more CUDA cores than the GeForce RTX 3070, however, 30% lower cores than the regular GeForce RTX 3080. What stands out is the use of a faster 8 GB GDDR6X memory that we saw on RTX 3080 and above GPUs and it is expected to have 250-275W TGP.
It will feature the same 256-bit bus interface and will be rated at 19 Gbps memory bandwidth like the GeForce RTX 3080 and the RTX 3080 Ti. So, with DLSS and ray tracing, you can expect good performance out of the RTX 3070 Ti paying just $100 more than the MSRP.
The Founder’s Edition of the RTX 3070 Ti will pack the same 12-pin micro-fit power interface and also a brand new PCB design that is similar to the irregular PCB designs we see on the higher-end versions. For outputs, you have 1 HDMI 2.1 & triple DP 2.0 interfaces.
The RTX 3070 Ti will available on June 10 starting at $599 while reviews are set to come out a day before the availability date.
