The New MacBook Pro 13-inch is just an M2 upgrade over its predecessor

Apart from launching the new M2 chipset and yes the completely redesigned MacBook Air, Apple very subtly also announced the new MacBook Pro 13-inch. It hasn’t caught the most attention at WWDC 2022 as it was a sidekick to the new MacBook Air which actually caught everyone’s eyes.

What to expect from the new MacBook Pro 13-inch?

However, if you want to churn the max performance out of the new M2 chip that promises up to 18% CPU and 35% GPU performance improvements over its predecessor you will definitely need a fan to push the limits. This new MacBook Pro 13-inch will again push the M2 chipset for max performance while retaining its simple design from 2020.

Nothing basically has changed for this new 2022 variant of the MacBook Pro which has been priced at the same starting price it previously was. Those who need more battery life, and performance have to opt for the new MacBook Pro which doesn’t really have a design overhaul but offers a great 20 hours of peak battery life still.

So, users will still enjoy the Touch Bar and Magic keyboard but there’s a new upgraded FaceTime 1080p camera you see in the new MacBook Air. Now, with the M2 chip, you can configure the MacBook Pro with up to 24GB of LPDDR5 RAM and for those who need a more budget-friendly Pro variant, this is what you should be looking at.

The new MacBook Pro 13-inch is more of a hardware upgrade and that’s why it still holds a starting price of $1,299 or ₹1,29,900 in India. However, much like the MacBook Air, you will have to wait a minimum of 1 month for this new notebook to make its way into the market.
