It is MIL-STD 810G standard certified, so it can survive drops from a height of up to 76cm. The Elite Dragonfly is lighter than all the previous generations of Elite notebooks by HP and its directly challenges LG’s Gram series.

The default 13.3-inch touchscreen display of the laptop is an FHD screen with 400 nits of brightness that consumes only 1W of power. You’ll be getting best battery life with the FHD one, but if you are looking for a sharper, brighter screen, HP is also offering a UHD display panel with HDR support and 550 nits of brightness.

Being a 2-in-1 laptop, you can bend it to 360 degrees, in case if you want to use it as a tablet or write on its display using a stylus. It supports active styluses, but they need to purchased separately not like the HP Pavilion x360 series where the HP stylus is included.

Coming to the internal specs, the Elite Dragonfly is powered by 8th Gen Intel Core U-series vPro processor which according to Intel, is “enterprise-class, but consumer-friendly.” You can choose from the Intel Core i3-8145U to the Intel Core i7-8565U that comes Intel UHD Graphics 620 iGPU.

The laptop can be configured up to 16GB of dual-channel LPDDR3 RAM, and 2TB of NVMe SSD storage. The entry-level models ship with 8GB of RAM and relatively slower 128GB M.2 SATA drive.

Among other features, the inclusion of the latest Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), allows for 5x faster internet speeds than 802.11ac. Also, there’s the option of 4G LTE version if you want always-on connectivity feature. HP has even added 4×4 antennas to the laptop that enhances the network reception of the laptop.

HP claims that it has redesigned the laptop’s keyboard to be quieter than ever before but still offers a decent 1.3-millimetre key travel. For the ports & connectivity, we have 2 Thunderbolt 3 ports, a USB 3.1 Gen-1 port, an HDMI port, 3.5mm audio jack, and a Kensington lock.

By default the laptop that weighs less than 1kg packs in a 38Wh battery which gives a good 16.5 hours of continuous performance. Now, if battery life is your main concern, then sacrifice the 1kg weight and you have the option of 56Wh battery that gives you a nonstop 24.5 hours of battery life which is just insane!

Both of these batteries support HP’s Fast Charge feature, that can charge up to 50 per cent in just 30 minutes. HP has priced the Elite Dragonfly 2-in-1 notebook at $1,549 (around Rs.1,11,000) for the base variant. The laptop will initially be available in select Asian markets starting from 25th October.

This professional business-oriented laptop will be handy for professionals who need performance without sacrificing portability and long battery life. Though this is more commercially oriented, normal consumers will also benefit from buying this productive 2-in-1 notebook.
