Just months after wrapping production, **“[Daredevil](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt18923754/): Born Again”** has received unexpected news — Season 3 will be its last. Marvel Studios and Disney+ have decided to close out the series rather than continue it, marking a quiet but significant end for one of the MCU’s most closely watched TV revivals.

Adding to the uncertainty, showrunner Dario Scardapane has exited the project during post-production, with no clear successor named to steer the final season to completion.

## Daredevil: Born Again- Overview

## A Rocky Road From the Start

The Disney+ revival never had a smooth production history. Season 1 underwent a major creative overhaul after the 2023 strikes, with original writers replaced and Scardapane brought aboard to steer the show closer to its darker Netflix roots. Season 3, which wrapped filming a couple of months ago, will now close the story without its architect at the helm.

## Reuniting the Defenders One Last Time

Season 3 is set to bring back several fan-favorite characters from the Netflix era, including Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones, Mike Colter’s Luke Cage, and Finn Jones’s Iron Fist — teaming up to take down a Kingpin stripped of his mayoral power.

## Why Now?

The show’s ending comes amid Marvel Studios reportedly scaling back its live-action Disney+ slate overall, following the non-renewal of other projects like *Wonder Man*. Notably, *Daredevil: Born Again* remains the only MCU Disney+ series to have reached a third season at all — a distinction that makes its cancellation especially notable.

## What’s Next for the Characters?

With Season 3 arriving between *Avengers: Doomsday* and *Avengers: Secret Wars*, fans are left wondering whether Charlie Cox’s Daredevil — or any of the returning street-level heroes — will find a future elsewhere in the MCU.
