The movie follows certain cases of how ‘love jihad’ was used by ISIS to lure 32,000 women to Syria. The trailer shows how men were brainwashed into Hindu and Christian women of Kerala in the name of love, converted to Islam, and forced them to become a part of the ISIS and other Islamic war zones. The highly shocking incidents happened between 2018-19, while an increasing number of Kerala youths had started to work under the influence of ISIS.

The film’s initial description said that the film is about “heartbreaking and gut-wrenching stories of 32000 females in Kerala”. However, the new description claims that the film is centred on the real-life stories of three young women from different parts of the State.
Scores of netizens took to their social media handles to highlight the recent update. “The story of Kerala changes. First, it was 32000 girls, now it’s 3 girls!! Vilification of Kerala (sic),” wrote a user. “The attempt to polarize Kerala on religious lines via a film that’s backtracked from its original claim of 32000 women to 3 women gone “missing”. Who will be held accountable for the deliberate misinformation that’s been peddled so far? (sic),” questioned another.
Cast of The Kerala Story
The Kerala Story features Adah Sharma in the lead, who appears to be the converted Muslim woman Fathima Ba, based on a Hindu nurse, who had suffered the same fate. In this film, we will also see stars Yogita Bihani, Sonia Balani, and Siddhi Idnani as the three other women with Fathima.
