Google’s Phone app is making its way to non-Pixel devices with new features that will detect spam and fraud calls. If there is one that we all agree to hate is getting spam or fraud calls. And that is something that happens all the time.

Most often, we end up picking up the calls and then start the process of long annoying conversations. However, Google is introducing a new feature to the Google Phone app that will help the users by giving them more information on who’s calling.

What does it do?

This feature is called Verified Calls by Google. It will show the caller’s name, as well as the logo along with the reason for calling. It will even display the business logo which would suggest that the business has been verified by google.

This feature will not only protect users from frauds and spams but will also be helpful to businesses. This feature will allow the business to convey their reason for calling the customers. It will also make clear when it be might be necessary to drop everything to pick up their calls.

This feature helps the users identify whether the businesses are what they claim to be and also to identify the reason for their call. This is a huge development over the traditional existing Caller ID feature.

Although, the google phone app will be available on non-pixel devices, Google has stated that not all features of the phone app will be released for non-pixel devices. Visual voicemail, call recording, and call screen will still be pixel exclusive features.

Google has stated that the verified calls feature will be rolling out in US, Mexico, Brazil, Spain and India.

Google’s “verified calls” feature has rolled out in the US, Mexico, Brazil, Spain, and India starting yesterday for pixel devices. However, google phones app for non-pixel devices will be available to download starting this week.
