OnePlus shortlisted 10 other names besides OxygenOS_TechnoSports.co.in

OnePlus and Oppo have announced that they will no longer feature OxygenOS and ColorOS on their devices, they will integrate both the Operating systems into a new OS, the name of which is yet to be released.

The unified OS will be customized for OnePlus devices to maintain its status as a clean and lightweight software, which is integral for the users of the brand, Gary Chen, the Head of OxygenOS, has been put in charge of the unified OS. OnePlus bootloaders will remain unlockable for those who wish to explore custom firmware.

Most of the work with respect to the development of the new OS has already begun, most of the changes will be internal. Since Oppo and OnePlus have their best developers working on it, so we can expect faster and higher quality software build.

OxygenOS to finally disappear as the new OS will take over in 2022

But there is no guarantee that a new OS will deliver as smooth of an experience that OnePlus users are accustomed to experiencing. The main purpose of the new OS is to just ensure that both Oppo and OnePlus devices run the same OS.

From Oppo’s perspective, it seems plausible to run one OS on all devices that fall under your company’s umbrella. With different OSs’ it is absurd and there will always be discrepancies between the two.

There will always be comparisons between the two Operating Systems, and since OxygenOS was appreciated a tad more than ColorOS, Oppo will naturally want to develop an entirely new OS that will combine the best of both worlds.

This was imminent since Oppo’s acquisition of OnePlus, although they did specify that OnePlus will get to maintain its creative freedom, an internal document highlighted that there was no decision taken about what happens to the operating system of OnePlus at the time of acquisition but an insider did specify that we may have seen the last of OxygenOS.
