20th Century Studios has dropped a second official trailer of ‘The Boogeyman’. This is mainly Stephen King’s upcoming chilling horror adaptation belongs to the acclaimed genre director Rob Savage. The Boogeyman was mainly heading for a release through the Hulu streaming service, but it scored so well at a test screening that the decision was made to give it a theatrical release. Coming to us from Host and Dashcam director Rob Savage, The Boogeyman follows a 16-year-old and her younger sister, still reeling from the death of their mother, as they’re targeted by a supernatural boogeyman after their psychologist father has an encounter with a desperate patient in their house.
The story of the film revolves around the High school student Sadie Harper and her younger sister Sawyer are reeling from the recent death of their mother and aren’t getting much support from their father, Will (Chris Messina), a therapist who is dealing with his own pain. When a desperate patient unexpectedly shows up at their home seeking help, he leaves behind a terrifying supernatural entity that preys on families and feeds on the suffering of its victims. The Boogeyman is directed by the talented British genre filmmaker Rob Savage. The director of the films Host and Dashcam previously, as well as numerous other acclaimed horror short films. The screenplay is written by Scott Beck & Bryan Woods, and Mark Heyman.
Scott Beck and Bryan Woods have written the initial draft of the script for The Boogeyman, which was then rewritten by Akela Cooper (Malignant) and more recently Mark Heyman. King has said the work those writers put into the script resulted in a “terrific screenplay”. Despite the fact that it’s quite different from the source material, a short story that appeared in the pages of King’s Night Shift collection.

The movie has officially been rated PG-13 for terror, violent content, teen drug use, and some strong language.
