On February 17, Jamie Lee Curtis hinted at the show’s conclusion in an emotional Instagram post alongside co-star Abby Elliott, writing “FINISHED STRONG! Surrounding by an extraordinary crew and group of writers and producers and scene partners on the show that Chris Storer created, completing the story of this extraordinary family that we have all fallen in love with.”

When the internet predictably exploded, Curtis was asked by Access Hollywood if she really meant to say the show was ending — to which she responded: “Everybody’s confirmed the show is ending. I don’t understand why that’s such a big deal. I think everybody understood that it was the last season of the show. If it isn’t, then I’ve completely blown it.” FX hasn’t officially commented — but given Curtis’s emphatic, repeated confirmation across multiple interviews, fans should absolutely start preparing their goodbyes.

## Why Is It Ending Now?

Creator Christopher Storer originally planned to conclude the show with four seasons — and Season 4 ended with Carmy Berzatto leaving the restaurant and signing over his stake, a natural and powerful story endpoint.

Season 5 was secretly greenlit in 2025 and filmed back-to-back with Season 4 — m eaning the creative team always intended this to be the true ending. The clearest explanation for why The Bear is ending is that the creative team appears ready to wrap the story while the show is still at its absolute peak.

Wi [Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karuppu_(film))th stars like Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Ayo Edebiri now in high demand elsewhere, news of the show’s conclusion isn’t too shocking. Jeremy Allen White himself played Bruce Springsteen in a biopic and is voicing a character in the new *Star Wars* film — the cast has outgrown even the most prestigious restaurant in Chicago. 🌟

[The Bear](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Bear_(TV_series)) will go down as one of the greatest television series of the 2020s — 21 Emmys, 5 Golden Globes, and a genuinely singular vision of what a cooking show about grief, family, and ambition can be. Carmy, Syd, Richie — one last summer service. Make it count. 🔥
