The AirPods Pro 2 is scheduled to be released later this year, as the company’s suppliers get ready for delivery

The AirPods Pro have been around for a while, and according to multiple reports, the AirPods Pro 2 will be released later this year. A new source claims that Apple’s suppliers are preparing shipments, implying that the upgraded wireless earbuds will be introduced in a few months.

AirPods Pro 2

The AirPods Pro 2 is expected to be released in the second half of 2022, however an exact launch date has yet to be determined:

The information comes from a DigiTimes paywall that MacRumors discovered. According to the report, Apple’s suppliers are preparing to ship the new AirPod Pro 2, which could arrive in the second half of 2022. Despite rumours that the AirPod Pro 2 would be released in the third quarter of 2022, famous analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes the AirPods Pro 2 would be released in the fourth quarter.

DigiTimes isn’t known for its accuracy, but if this latest piece of information is correct, and Apple’s suppliers are actually preparing for shipments, and it’s not too early in the year, the company might make an announcement in the third quarter rather than the fourth. There’s a chance we’ll learn about more AirPods Pro 2 capabilities before the official debut, but the ones we already know about are reason enough to upgrade.

Lossless Audio, for example, is said to be supported by the AirPod Pro 2. Aside from the AirPods Max, Apple’s first and only wireless headphones, the AirPods Pro 2 may be the company’s first wireless earbuds to support this capability. These could also come in a Charging Case with holes for speakers that will play a sound to alert the owners to their position.

The AirPods Pro 2 and Charging Case are reported to be tracked using Apple’s Find My network. Finally, the AirPods Pro 2 could come with a new stem-less design, albeit you should take this and earlier reports with a grain of salt.
